What is the difference between MEI, ME, and LTDA?

TF Assessor · July 07, 2026

These are different company formats. The MEI is the Individual Microentrepreneur: it is the simplest one, for small revenue and with no partners. The ME is the Microenterprise: it allows more revenue and more activities. The LTDA is the Limited Liability Company: it usually has partners. In it, each partner is liable for the amount they invested. It is worth knowing that MEI and ME refer to the size of the company. The LTDA, on the other hand, refers to the type of partnership. The choice changes the taxes and the obligations. TF Assessor analyzes your revenue and your plans. That way, we recommend the right format for your business to grow safely.
