What is the DAS-MEI and why do I have to pay it every month?

The DAS-MEI is the single tax slip for the MEI. You pay a fixed amount per month, which does not depend on how much you earned. In 2026, this amount ranges between R$ 82 and R$ 87, depending on your activity (commerce, service, or both). It follows the minimum wage and changes every year. This amount already includes taxes and your contribution to the INSS (national social security), which guarantees retirement and other benefits. Paying on time keeps your company in good standing.
